i think i'm going to try to employ some old school curses and exclamations. i'm sick of "goddammit" and "fuck" all the time. howabout:

"blast!"
"curses!"
"drat!"
"great scott!"
"holy cats!"

the roommate/life-partner often employs "nuts!," which i enjoy.
